Magnum Opus is a neo-grunge heavy metal band out of Lexington, KY. Formed in 2025, we came up the way most real bands do—loud amps in an unfinished basement, no shortcuts. It started with Sabbath Jams, waves echoing off concrete walls, riffs learned the hard way, until the sound grew heavier and more our own.

Drew Mangas (vocals) and Blayne Boone (drums) locked in first—raw voice, hard-hitting rhythm. Luke Hall brought the lead work: sharp, melodic, sometimes feral. Landon Hutsell anchored it low and thick on bass. No gimmicks. Just volume, feel, and tension.

The roots are obvious but not imitated—Alice in Chains’ weight and harmony, the lyrical depth and phrasing of Stone Temple Pilots, the swamp-soaked darkness of Acid Bath, the gravity of Sabbath, the dangerous swing of Guns N' Roses. But this isn’t nostalgia. It’s pressure built from all of it and forced through a modern amp stack.

The sound is thick and physical—detuned riffs that drag like chains, drums that hit like blunt force, vocals that crack instead of polish. The songs aren’t about being born too late; they’re about fracture lines—anger, loss, defiance, the moments where something in you either breaks or hardens.

No speeches about saving rock. No slogans. We’re just making noise loud enough to leave a mark.

Magnum Opus isn’t trying to resurrect anything. We are the resurrection.
